I am starting to machine some parts for my rearsets and want to inquire about shift pattern.
All my bikes are set up with what we call Euro shift, as in you press down for an upshift.

Being these rearsets will be for sale I kind of want to know how many of you like the standard lift your toe for an upshift or to press down for an upshift?

Hi , I presume you are using a linkage for the gear lever. If so its relatively easy to make it so that by swinging the front splined lever through 180 degrees it works equally well for either shift pattern. Cool

Yes both sides will have linkage, the brake will have some ratio adjustment so you can adjust the firmness.

Right now the shifter has the link down on the engine, the joint is real close on the frame, might not be an issue. I should have the first one mounted up early next week.

To get the regular pattern the link at the engine will need to be up, this will require trimming the side covers. For the race bikes this should be no issues. For street bikes I expect some may not want to trim, but a second set of covers will allow changing back to stock.

One clearance I will need to check will be with stock mufflers, I do not have any yet and these are tucked in snug. I can make changes as needed once I get that far. With chambers there should be no issues.

So, Charlie. You need the stock pipes now, then? E-mail me and we can set up a meeting to pass over the stockers I've got for you.

Has to be 'down for up' for me. Even changed my 916 linkage to get it to change the other way..

You have to make the linkage easily changeable from one to the other if you want to have some success with this. Sounds like a great project!

I have one set of pegs made and just got in the last of the materials to make the linkage.

I just need to get the inspiration to get the next parts made, I do intend to work a session on them late today.
