Adrian (et al), My bike is up and runing and just SOOOO much fun. I'm six foot three inches tall and I'm way the hell too big for it, but it is just great. As I may have mentinoned here, it's the first bike my father ever bought (brand new for $650 in 1967) and I dragged it out of his basement where it's been sitting since 1976 or so. So I feel like the bike is literally a family member. Just so great. The speedo and tach don't work and I'm assuming that the only diagnosis for this is a bad speedo cable. Yes? If so, is this fairly easy to replace? Peter |

Hey - Glad to hear what fun you are having on it. I'm 6'1" but what the heck. Don't be afraid to thrash it mercilessly - they thrive on revs. Speed and Tacho have two seperate cables.. are they both broken? Yes, easy to replace and easy to check over too. Was the front wheel fitted with the speedo drive 'tangs' lined up correctly? That is a common cause of no speedo reading. If incorrect, they get bent out of the way and it fails to work. |

Whoops. Sorry I meant speedo and odometer. The tach is fine. Thanks for all the help. Peter |
