I just finished cleaning and installing the gas tank and carbs on my T20 and decided to change all the fluids. The Clymer generic service manual that I have indicates that the transmission drain plug is on the bottom right side of the engine. I tried unscrewing some of the smaller bolts on the right side and no luck with draining (there definitely is oil around the clutch). I did find the centrally located small drain for the crankcase. The only other bolts are some large 21 mm ones under the gear box. Before I buy a larger socket for these bolts does anyone know if these are the transmission drain plugs?

Yes - the two right hand ones are the ones you need to undo. The centre one drains the gearbox, the RH one drains the clutch. Oil circulates between the g'box and clutch but you need to drain both to remove all the oil.

The LH bolt is the spring loaded gear selector drum indent plug. Undoing it 'by mistake' is not a problem - have a look and put it back in!

Thanks for the advice Adrian, I kind of figured it was those large bolts.
