I've got a TR250 replica petrol tank made by Peter Keyte. It's really a state-of-the-art tank, thanks to Peter (and thanks to Adrian for a tip)! The front fitting is OK, but haven't yet made the back fitting. There's a wide aluminium "hook" welded on the back side of the tank. I see you use some kind of rubber strap but what kind of and where from to get it? Where to fit the other end of that strap, surely I've to make and weld some kind of fastener? |

A'Hoover' drive belt does the job of holding it on. |

Here we are:
You then use a rubber 'O' ring over the tank and under the bracket shown above. I use a large 'O' ring that I cut to size and then joined up with a cable tie. It works well.

Thanks again, Adrian! You have helped very much my classic racer project here in Finland. It's really good to see that in this cold world there's still left helpful and unselfish persons. |
