My mate has just aquired a T250TT (matching frame and engine numbers, with "TT" markings.)It's blue with a painted blue rear mudguard and a short blue front mudguard plus a black painted engine. Is this original and if not then what is wrong. It's a runner with a full MOT and sounds gorgeous on full song. Would anyone hazard a guess as to its value?

I've got a TT250 parts catalogue which shows front guard as full length chromed with high stay, like the old T500 type. Forks don't have lugs by wheel spindle to take long stay guard. Rear guard is full chromed, again similar looking to T500, and GT500 for that matter. Where are you based Alex, I'm near Plymouth if you wanted to have a leaf through the catalogue. It has colours in it too, no blue though - black, candy yellow, egret white, candy turquoise and candy lavender (aka pig's arse pink!!).

Neil's a bit of an expert on them and a major player in our racing team.

Dave E can you put me onto the 'T250 website' I can't find it :-)
Neil: thanks very much for the reply. I guess our bike must have beeen candy yellow because the paints worn away in places and we thought that it might have been gold originally. We live in Southampton so we can't really visit unfortunately but thanks for the offer. Do you have any thoughts on the black engine, we didn't think that manufacturers painted engines in the early 70's.

Alex, cannot find any Suzuki referrences to black painted engines except that some dealers might have 'prepared' some of the early 70's T/TT250's with 'racing' effects. That T250 site is a mine of good information. I bought some bits from Brian Hemmings who got Mark's bike, like new it is.
