Hey guys-
I think my problem of the bike not wanting to go over 60 MPH is jetting. I have stock pipes with baffles, stock air box, and stock 24 MM carbs. I'm running a 35 pilot and a 90 main. Took the element out of the air cleaner (just ran the box), and it ran the same. Took the box and boot off altogether, ran perfect, got it up to 90 MPH. What was stock mains for a '66 X6. Think 85 or even 80 mains would hurt anything?

The stock mains were 90s or 95s as far as I can tell. Running smaller ones are fine as long as you do regular 'plug-chops' to check the mixture.

We rejet the racers inbetween races if the Sun comes out and it warms up!

Thanks for the reply. With 85 mains and 30 pilots, the thing screams now. What plugs should I use in it? I've got B7HS in there now. Should I try the B77HC?

I don't think B77HC are availiable any more. B7HS is fine, although you might want to try the cooler running B8HS if it runs a bit hot.

Glad its running well now.
