hi there me again. my bike has been sitting for an undetermined amount of time, and the rotor and inside of the generator assembly is dirty and has surface rust etc on it. how can I clean them up without damaging any thing? i have heard that solvent is NOT a good idea. any other tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

I washed mine in 'Jizer' using a paint brush to get all the dirt out. I rubbed off the rust with 'wet or dry' paper and then washed the whole lot of with a hose pipe and fairy liquid. This was followed by it being blown down with a high pressure airline.

A bit harsh perhaps, but it worked for me!
